Thrill of the Chase

Elvis Stojko has a reputation for not only being a fierce competitor, but also a man of opinions and ideals… all of which he has never hid from the world. People could call him the consummate champion. Against all odds he conquered the amateur skating world, then the professional skating world, then he moved onto the stage and conquered Broadway, he’s become a martial art champion, he’s even conquered three very prestigious Hall of Fames, and now the iconic Canadian athlete has set his sights on the world of motorsports. For a man with the track record of Stojko – do we call it luck? Perhaps being in the right place at the right time? Or does Elvis have a formula for success? Trading in his skates for engines, and his spins for tires, and coaches for mechanics – we will follow this proud Canadian competitor as he moves from the ice to the asphalt in an attempt to become a household name in the world of motorsports. In this documentary, Elvis will reveal to us how he approaches a sport, how he trains his body, how he trains his mind, whom he trains with, and how he uses what he’s learned in other sports (and his private life) to get him to his ultimate goal… a world championship in motorsports! With a combination of exciting racing sequence footage, on track training sequences footage, numerous interviews, and of course detailed and intimate one on one conversations with Elvis himself, this documentary will reveal to the viewer how a champion becomes a champion, and takes that essence and moves it into every aspect of their lives.  For more info visit: www.stojkofilm.com  ...

Anti-Age Me

Anti-Age Me is a feature length documentary that takes a first hand look at fitness, health, wellness, anti-aging, and prosperity as a choice. This interactive documentary is ground breaking as it will be shaped by YOU the viewer. ANTI-AGE ME: Chapter 1, “Super Size Me” meets the Fountain of Youth STEVEN J. WONG embarks on a 4,000 km journey from Toronto, Ontario, Canada in search of the fountain of youth. After two years of research, STEVEN believes he has found the solution – the modern day “magic pill” which claims to reverse all the signs of aging, return him to the optimal levels equivalent to a healthy 25-year old and put him in the best shape of his life. Once reserved only for pro athletes, movie stars and the extremely wealthy, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) are starting to become more mainstream. STEVEN tracks down one of world’s leading doctors in age management/HRT – Dr. MIKE CARRAGHER from West Hollywood, California – to convince the doctor to take him on as a candidate for medically supervised HRT/TRT. Dr. CARRAGHER calls STEVEN with the results from his extensive blood work; he has good news and bad news.  The good news is that STEVEN qualifies for HRT due to very low levels of IGF-1 (the indirect marker for Human Growth Hormone) and that there’s renewed hope suggesting that his symptoms can be cured. The bad news is that his cholesterol levels are dangerously high. Shattered by this news, STEVEN’s focus, priorities and expectations change from aesthetics and fitness to long-term health and well-being. The doctor reassures him that the program will also treat his cholesterol problem and STEVEN is now more motivated than ever to undergo treatment. ANTI-AGE ME is a gripping story that documents a number of universal themes – the fading of beauty, the realization of mortality, and the search for answers to living the highest quality of life – in STEVEN’s year and a half long journey.  The film closely captures the scientific and tangible results of the program while examining any increase in quality of life – and any side effects. ANTI-AGE ME will juxtapose these new forms of anti-aging medicine with other methods of health and fitness. This EIGHT year (2012-2020) documentary film will also educate audiences by exploring the latest in medical technologies, pro-active healthcare, innovations in exercise protocols and nutrition while debunking myths.  Will new medical science prevail or will the tried and true protocols of health and fitness still prove to be the winning method of the 21st century?  ANTI-AGE ME will entertain and enlighten while providing audiences with...

The GSP Story

The GSP Story is a documentary movie project featuring the renown Canadian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) athlete, Georges St-Pierre (GSP). Ostensibly it is a film focusing upon GSP’s preparation for an upcoming defense of his world UFC welterweight title and the action and events that unfold as the event draws near. The real focus of the documentary however, runs much deeper than this. The film begins with a vivid portrayal of GSP’s world view; one which sees the basis of all life as unremitting competition, a world that divides our experience of life into successes and failures, winning and losing, and the resulting emotional turmoil that arises from these experiences. The sport of MMA is used as a metaphor for life and our experience of it. GSP’s lifestyle and belief system is thus immediately linked to something much deeper and broader than mere athletic competition. It is seen as a carefully crafted and philosophically profound response to some of the pervasive and difficult problems of life itself. In this way, The GSP Story seeks to work at several different levels; intellectual, cerebral, emotional and cultural. The GSP Story will break new ground in the film industry using the most advanced cinematic technologies, setting new standards in this genre. In 2014, the GSP Story was completed when it’s screenplay was adapted by Takedown: The DNA of GSP. Photography and creative © Glenn Dextras |...
